About Me

Hello,

My name is Stephanie Black, I am an artist at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design majoring in 3D animation. I began college knowing absolutely nothing about the 3D realm other than what I had seen in the Special Features section of Shrek, but ever since, the image of Shrek’s face as a strange gray lump with lines and little points that moved around when the modeler selected them was burned into my memory ever since. That short scene was what led me to the decision to become a 3D artist.

Of course that isn’t where I started my career as an artist. I had been drawing for years prior ever since I was a child, but I never could’ve imagined the world of creativity that awaited me once I had access to programs such as Maya. But I digress; most of the artwork I have created since I began my education at RMCAD has been experimentation of different creation methods, animating, texturing, and much more.

Despite having worked mainly in the 3D realm since I began school back in 2010, I have made it a point to take as many drawing classes as I can while still fulfilling my requirements to graduate so that I don’t lose any of the skills that I’ve happened to come by over the years.
